Providing the Friday energy with one of his thumping singles is Ghana creative Izzik with the release of “Positive Energy”. Blending elements of pop with afrobeat finesse, the singer who often describes his sound as Smooth, Conscious, and Original serves up a head-bopping single filled with a heart-pounding beat. We see the singer flick back and forth between the intricacies of women and the hustle.
“With ‘Positive Energy’ the inspiration was just the Ladies and the Hustle so I was in Lagos Nigeria on New Year’s Eve and I called the producer G Flames to pull up at my hotel and he did with Tillaboy who was one of the featured artists on the song I also called OG Emmy who also happened to be in Lagos at the time and we made a banger,” he revealed.
Known to always put the full force of his raw talent on full display, Izzik embodies the afrobeat attitude wholeheartedly and channels it through his music.
Izzik has the remainder of the year on lock with the release of several singles, from Pandemic to Crown and his most recent track Soweto Chillz. As the year approaches its end, 2022 is looking to be the year the singer finally makes his mark. We chat with him about his sound, where he draws lyrical inspiration from, and what is next for him.

Quick Note: This interview was first published in part on the 1st of July and was wrapped up on the 30th of September 2022.
I’m doing great thanks.
With “Positive Energy” the inspiration was just the Ladies and the Hustle so I was in Lagos Nigeria on New Year’s Eve and I called the producer G Flames to pull up at my hotel and he did with Tillaboy who was one of the featured artists on the song I also called OG Emmy who also happened to be in Lagos at the time and we made a banger.
I’d say a lot of ups and downs, in and outs, happy times, and sad times. A little bit of life experience has sculpted my writing skills and I’ve honed my craft into being what it is today. Musically the production and the mixing have evolved.
The future of my sound is bright because I’m meeting new producers and people from different music cultures also “The African Sound” is getting bigger so I look forward to fusion with other cultures.
Lyrical inspiration… Both ways I’d say but 80% of the time it’s from my personal experiences and everyday life.
In three simple words, I will describe my music as Smooth, Conscious, and Original.
I got some singles lined up for the next few months ahead of us I’m not supposed to say this yet but yeah exclusive for you guys one of those singles “Crown” is dropping on 14 July and from there it’s bangers and reload.
