The highly anticipated visuals to Wizkid’s hit track Essence featuring Tems finally premiered on the 9th of April on YouTube at 6pm on Friday, taking new music Friday to another level.
Both artists announced the release date with a teaser on their social media accounts, which then created a massive online buzz as fans awaited worldwide.
The countdown began 2 minutes to the premiere on the official StarBoy Records YouTube account ‘StarBoy TV’, with over 2k+ people tuned. By the time the video dropped, the number of viewers impressively increased to more than 8k.
30 minutes after it premiered, the video amassed a total of 65,235 views, and by the hour, the viewership had increased to 126,179.
Essence is the 11th track on Wizkid’s 2020 album ‘Made in Lagos’. It quickly became a fan favourite and has attained over 13 million streams on apple music since last year.
The music video was directed by the DK Production company.
