Chris Brown-endorsed Botswana music and comedy star, William Last KRM has just unveiled a club resonance he titled “Peka Peka”. This track is an intoxicating fusion of riddims, percussions, and sinister strings aimed at creating an undeniable amapiano feel. William has indeed outdone himself with this one as the uprising trend is noticed in all his musical releases, and it only gets better. His ability to deliver was also noticed in his 2022 smash hit and Spotify feature “Iy-Yi”.
The singer and comedian have drawn inspiration from a wide range of musical and artistic genres, but he has always carved out his own niche with his avant-garde sounds and songwriting talent; “Peka Peka” isn’t any different as it would without any sense of doubt make it to country countdowns and radio airwaves. It was produced by the exciting Botswana producer Makwinja and takes cues from Amapiano, House, and GQOM sounds. “Peka Peka” is William Last KRM’s ongoing exploration of Amapiano, the genre that has emerged out of South Africa’s dance music underground to become such a global phenomenon.
“My fans and my love for Amapiano inspired me to make the song. I figured since it’s almost the end of 2022, I need an amapiano banger to end the year on a high note. Peka actually means ‘crazy‘ so basically, the song Peka Peka is about going crazy in any situation you are in. As much as people say William Last is crazy and funny, I actually agree. The key message I would like people to take from this song is to always be free with their lives. Enjoy every moment while it lasts, you only live once.” William says while speaking about the inspiration behind “Peka Peka”.
He received recognition from RnB star, Chris Brown after he rendered the comedic version of the singer’s 2012 smash single “Don’t Wake Me Up”. William’s career has been on the uprise as he has amassed a total of 3,000,000 streams on all his digital streaming platforms.
