She’s the beautiful singer-songwriter from Nigeria, based in London fusing Afropop and Hip- hop.
Bella, Tell us the secret to your songwriting process?
Everything i’ve ever written has been inspired by my personal life experiences & mostly falling in love because that’s the strongest and easiest emotion for me to channel.
After recording, do you spend time perfecting your songs?
i just try to make it sound as good as possible while i’m recording because i don’t really enjoy changing things about songs once i’ve recorded them. the recording process has to be as perfect as possible.
Tell us the story behind your last EP “Summer’s Over”?
Early last year i moved to London and was looking forward to going to Nigeria for the summer especially because there was someone who i hope things would go well with, but it didn’t work out.
I put the project together in my last 3 weeks in Nigeria as a way to express my feelings and just let it all out.
I love that i got features from people who i looked up to.
What are the ways you handle the expectations and pressure of the music industry?
Right now i’m doing that by staying off social media and paying attention to other aspects of my life.
I’m practicing tunnel vision focus on my goals and really just ignoring everything going on around me because i know no one has had my journey before so i have to figure it out myself.
What story are you trying to share with world through your music?
My favourite thing about music is how relatable it is. i really just want to make songs that people can listen to and know they’re not alone in whatever emotions they feel.
i’m also very invested in making music that caters to girls.
