Empire and Starstruck Management act, Wande Coal had few months ago announced his link up with Nigerian-American rapper, Wale on the remix of his generally accepted mid-tempo tune, “Again.” This said smash hit was extracted from his recently released EP entitled “Realms.” A natural reaction would be to release a befitting and uncompromising visual to the offering but due to the global pandemic and it’s restrictions, the video release had to be on hold.
Wande Coal has now graciously unleashed a short film inspired by this track to hold fans over until such a time that an official video can be released. The Adasa Cookey directed visuals is a piece that expresses and explores love, friendship and betrayal- paraphrasing. The theme of this artistic project could be centered around jealousy, envy and desperation. “It’s great to work with an artist like Wale, and on a remix of one of my biggest records in ‘Again,’ no less. When Wale first hit the scene working with people like Lady Gaga and Rick Ross, it was a big inspiration for us in Nigeria to see a Nigerian rapper in the States having success at such a high level.” Wande said while speaking about the remix.
Wande, who is still celebrating and pushing his recently released “Realms” EP, is one of Africa’s greatest Afropop exports and inspirational icons. Prior to this year 2020, he had taken some sort of 5-year hiatus from appearing on cultural headlines for projects such as this but now his “Realms” EP which has been on the lips of many is a loud statement of his return. The singer has released several chart topping tunes over the years. Tunes like “So Mi So” and “Iskaba” are offerings and global sounds well recognized with the name and the brand “Wande Coal.”
