“This is for Burna Boy” — Angélique Kidjo says After Winning Her Forth Grammy Awards

Angélique Kidjo who won the World music album at the just concluded 62nd Grammy Awards has dedicated it to Nigerian singer Burna Boy who was also nominated for the highest music prize.

Although, the awards set them against each other, but the Beninese singer won Sunday night.

A nod for Burna Boy who putting works last year, is also a win for him, but Kidjo won for the forth time.

“Four years ago on this stage, I was telling you that the new generation of artists coming from Africa are going to take you by storm,” Kidjo said. She concluded by saying “And the time has come. This is for Burna Boy. / Burna Boy is among those young artists that come from Africa that is changing the way our continent is perceived and the way African music has been the bedrock of every music.”
