Sevana, the Jamaican artiste raised and graced with a natural knack for soul and R&B has just unveiled a new piece titled “Blessed” and she credits it to her newly found ‘awokeness.’ “It’s the story of my spiritual growth, how I awoke to a relationship with God as my world came crashing down. I know what it feels like to never be alone again, I am covered, I am at peace. I am Blessed,” she stated.
“Blessed,” the single, was graciously accompanied by a well defined video which was captured in the rustic terrain of Soda Springs, CA. Sevana is not a new name at the corridors and hallmarks of musical fame as she had been featured in well meaning platforms, blogs and vlogs inclusive. OCTAVE believes that “Sevana has the octaves and pipes that give singers like Beyoncé their stripes.” She also got featured on NYLON and the remarks were simply apt and accurate, a well meaning statement; “The rising Jamaican star definitely has the range… manages to make the song’s already blissful hook sound even sweeter.” Sevana is undoubtedly laced with a coat of many colours as her previous projects have proven her to be a new sound and a new vibe. Sevana has indeed gained reputation over the years with songs like “Sometime Love” in the year 2018, “Nobody Man,” “Haul &Pull,” among others. Declaring her territory, she had just recently been included in PUMA Middle East’s 2020 campaign along with labelmate Lila Iké.
Sevana’s newly released “Blessed” track is an appraisal off her most recent EP “Be Somebody” and it is a highlight of her legitimacy and dominance in her vocal and lyrical field. In explaining the visuals of the song, she said: “The visual follows the story of a woman lost in the wilderness. She’s made a home there, but it all comes to a head when a threat finds its way into the home she’s made. Through divine intervention, she escapes. The threat is fear. The woman is me.“ The video for “Blessed” follows her “Mango” video which has over 2m+ views and has become a fan’s favorite.
