The new single “My Oasis” is Sam Smith’s attempt to reannounce himself on the musical scene. The prelude to his forthcoming album “To Die For” features Afrobeats royalty, Burna Boy. Creating an awareness on Twitter, Smith wrote: “Hello all. My new song with @burnaboy ‘My Oasis’ is officially out. I hope you love it like I do.”
Earlier this year, Smith announced that they would be postponing the release date of their forthcoming album. Originally entitled ‘To Die For’, Smith’s third LP was set to be released on May 1, but the singer-songwriter later confirmed it will be pushed back and the album title will be changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Burna Boy’s last full release was last year’s ‘African Giant’. In a four-star review, NME said: “This globe-trotting collection sees the Nigerian megastar scale even dizzier heights than before.” “This track has been a beautiful release of emotions for me during this time,” Sam Smith said in a statement. “I’ve been a fan of Burna Boy for years now and am so happy to have a tune with him.” Sam Smith said when asked about his collaboration with Burna Boy. The song is slated to appear on Smith’s forthcoming studio album, which the singer postponed in March due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
