“I want to take this to the top… take it worldwide,” in Olumide’s words when asked asked about his vision for his musical journey. For Olumide, music has always been a way for him to stay connected to his siblings. Olumide’s dream has always been to develop a huge fanbase and to also shape himself into a true artist and musician.
Although growing up into the artist that he is now, he had encountered a kind of hiatus from the microphone but had at some point picked it up again and pursued it with more vigour and passion. Olumide hasn’t been quiet as he has steadily released lyrical content back to back ranging from tracks like “cooling”, “jumpman”, “slang” to tracks like “passion”. Olumide has released his latest single “Ushy Gushy” which features DC’s WillThaRapper and backed by production from MD’s Kilasi.
Olumide has been steadily building his career for some time now but with releases like this, the singer has outrightly announced his stance and fire for his music. Olumide’s catchy lyrics and melodic flow in the song go hand in hand with Kilasi’s vocals. Each artist manages to come through and build momentum off each other in a way that makes for a cohesive listen throughout the whole track. The singles Olumide dropped to this point only gave us a glimpse of his capabilities.
