YBNL nation boss and artiste, Olamide formally announces the release of his latest studio project – UY SCUTI album. This is the rapper’s third new music project in the period of a year and more. “UY SCUTI” marks the rapper’s ninth studio album and it houses his hit release, “Rock” and his just premiered dancehall tune, “Pon Pon.”
Uy Scuti represents the name of the largest known star in the universe and it sees this street rap messiah and stalwart spread his tentacles, adopting inspirations from the genres of reggae, amapiano, alté, dancehall and trap. This is so far highlighted as the singer’s most rhythmic mix. When asked about his latest trend of featuring up and coming, new-to-the-scene artistes, he said; “For me, it’s synergy first and everything else later,” Olamidé says of platforming new talent. “It’s not about working with some huge artist with big numbers for me. I would rather do my thing alone and with people in sync with me. I’m all about longevity, and what’s going to stand the test of time.”
Olamide is undoubtedly one of Africa’s biggest names in the corridors of global recognition in music. He is currently Africa’s most prominent and influential rap act, garnering over 1 billion streams cumulatively worldwide. Since the advent of the rapper’s globally recognized record label, YBNL, in the year 2012, it has so far launched the careers of big names in industry now like – Fireboy DML ( composer and singer of hit song “Jealous”), Adekunle Gold (singer of “Orente”), Lil Kesh (the voice behind “Is It Because I Love You”), among others.
Just recently YBNL sealed a partnership deal with US based EMPIRE in a bid to spread its influence in the African continent.
