Young and sensational Snazzy the Optimist is a Nigerian-born South African singer-songwriter and rapper who has a plethora more to offer and is readily carving his own path into becoming a voice in the future of next-gen music across the globe.
The youngster whose real name Michael Chimeruche Alozie first grabbed the attention of many music lovers with his momentous single “Seluna” which is charted on the Nigerian iTunes Chart and has accumulated more than 350,000 streams on all music streaming stores.
According to him, he understands the value of his musical platform and is setting his sight on making a difference through his art.
Snazzy is best described as a creative hybrid of African melody, rapper, and groove beats, who took his sound and made it his own by watching closely, creating his type of craft from the inspiration of his father and grandfather, his musical influence.
Snazzy is a native of Imo State in Nigeria, born into a musical family. His father is a great instrumentalist who was a member of a choir in a church in South Africa where Snazzy the Optimist was raised, Snazzy’s grandfather also played the drums.
Snazzy further disclosed that his genuine enthusiasm keeps him controversial and optimistic about his craft, as he is set to explode Afrobeat with his unique style and quality of songs, coupled with motivational messages that will be worthy of listening to.
This multi-talented musician and producer has worked with various artists and also shared his recording process from local studios in Cape Town where he grew up and the struggles enmeshed in pushing his musical aspirations. Before he was Snazzy, Snazzy the Optimist performed under the stage name, ‘Lil Snazzy’.
Snazzy who released two mixtapes under that moniker on SoundCloud, but rarely talks about those days or his previous moniker has promised to take the Afrobeat industry by storm.
