Ade, staged name “Adethesaucerer,” is a budding Nigerian afropop singer and songwriter, he tells us about himself, how music became a means of escape for him, is songwriting process and what’s next for him.
Tell us a little bit about who you are and why you started making music? Hi My Name is “Adethesaucerer”, am 25 years. I am a Afrobeats/afropop artist breeding out of London UK. I started making music in August 2018 it was as a means of escape, started as a challenge to myself I went to a yxng Bane Show and Saw the Response he got from people and I thought to myself let me try this you never know and I completely fell in love with it.
Have you officially released any song? Oh yes I’ve officially released about 10 tracks or more which are officially on Spotify and Apple Music.
What is your songwriting process like? Songwriting to me is more of a casual word as I believe music should be free and expressive, literally I have no process my only job is to get inspired day to day I try and open my mind to ideas and concepts and write the concepts down and when am in the studio I just look at that concept, listen to the beat and it all just comes to me.
What do you wish you knew when you first started making music? I wish I knew the importance of a team, I wanted to do everything myself as I was too big headed to pay people for music videos, engineering promoting and the lot. Music is expensive, the journey is not cheap but enjoy it and build your skills the more things you know how to do well the more money you save—It’s a fine line.
What are you working on right now? Oh am so excited for this year. In 2020 I releasing three Ep’s titled “Saucerer’s Sound V1-V3” and my next single titled Lagos love is already being engineered and preparing the roll out.
What’s your best advice to other independent artists out there? Be you, do you and don’t care about what anyone says. People opinions will contribute massively to your failure although listen to criticism but be able to distinguish them.
Do you have a New Year’s resolution? What Is It? New Years resolution is be happy and work harder
