Ghanaian star singer Dennis Nana Dwamena, popularly known as KiDi has dropped a brand new EP, dubbed ‘Blue’.
‘Blue’ is a 5-track EP of brand new material from the afrobeats and highlife act. His debut album ‘Sugar,’ which was released in May 2019, was a 13 Track masterpiece which featured notable musicians like Mayorkun, Mr Eazi, Stonebwoy, Kwesi Arthur and others.
This time around, his project is mostly a solo effort. Containing only one collaboration, “One Man” featuring Ghanaian songstress Adina, KiDi sets out to carry the majority of the weight of the creative effort in the project. This is a more passionate song as the artist sings about his love-life and how he doesn’t want his lover to be with anyone else but him. With production by Richie Mensah, Kayso, DatBeatGod, Altra Nova, and MOG Beatz, KiDi taps into the strengths of the best producers Ghana has to offer, to create a unique sound with each of them.
On ‘Blue’, the Lynx Entertainment star exhibits the best of his talent, in terms of his creative ability. On “End in Tears”, KiDi makes a case for a young man who wants a fling and nothing more, KiDi always has a way of creatively bringing out the very best as he delivers excellently using his Ghanaian dialect in the chorus. He speaks about his insecurities in relationships and how past experiences make him scared to love again and on “Next Time I See You,” he teams up with Nova to deliver a bouncy bop of old school funk. As usual, KiDi delivers and shows his potential in diversity as an artist. This song is a very calm way to end the project as it tempts listeners to put the project on replay.
Whether it be the songwriting or the sound direction, KiDi has expressed the newly stretched limits of his creativity, showing that he isn’t just a hit factory. ‘Blue’ is intentional, a short but sweet selection of songs to help you get through the times.
The MTN Hitmaker isn’t just a hitmaker, he’s a complete musician. Whether it be “Say Cheese” or “Freaky Lord”, there’s definitely something on the project for you. And guess what? It is available here on Lambo Xtra just for you.
