Square, financial services giant, owned and managed by Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey has announced their plan to acquire majority stake in Jay Z’s premium music streaming service and brand, TIDAL. This announcement was made on the 4th of March, 2021.
This acquisition is focused on extending the payments firm’s “purpose of economic empowerment” to musicians and artistes alike, says Jack Dorsey’s finance tech firm. In 2015, Jay-Z bought Tidal from Europe-based Aspiro. TIDAL has successful spread its tentacles, having listeners in over 56 countries. Madonna, Kanye West Rihanna, among others have stakes in this she company. “It comes down to one simple idea: finding new ways for artists to support their work,” said Dorsey.
Square expects to pay a mix of cash and stock of $297 million for a significant majority ownership stake, and existing artist shareholders will be the remaining stakeholders. TIDAL will operate independently within Square, alongside the Seller and Cash App ecosystems. “Given what Square has been able to do for sellers of all sizes and individuals through Cash App, we believe we can now work for artists to see the same success for them, and us,” Dorsey said while speaking about the deal.
When asked about this deal, Jay Z said: “Jack and I have had many discussions about Tidal’s endless possibilities that have made me even more inspired about its future.” Indeed, artistes need as much support and platforms as they could get which is the idea TIDAL is believed to be built upon. “Artists deserve better tools to assist them in their creative journey,” Jay Z said while expressing his reasons.

International shipping recipients WILL be required to pay duties/taxes by their nation's customs in order to obtain possession of their shipment. This charge is determined by the recipient country's government. Complex assumes no liability for these charges, nor are we able to predetermine or estimate these fees ahead of time. They are calculated by customs upon arrival of the package. Complex cannot guarantee an arrival or delivery date, as the customs department can delay release of any package for any reason. It is recommended that you plan for at least 7 business days additional time to receive your shipment. This 7 business day buffer is not a guarantee of time-frame for the release of packages. These delays will vary depending on the nation of delivery, customs department policies and procedures in dealing with the type of product ordered.

If a tracking # is provided by the shipping carrier, we will update your order with the tracking information. Please note that some orders using 1st Class USPS mail will not have tracking numbers.
The rate charged for the shipping of your order is based on the weight of your products, and your location. Before the final checkout page you will be shown your shipping options (if applicable) and what the cost of shipping will be for each option.
For orders shipping to any address in the United States, standard shipping which has a business day transit time. Both of these transit times are from when the order leaves our production facility which can take up to business days.
For international orders we currently only offer standard shipping. Transit time is 10-14 business days for Canada and rest of the world.
