After years of steadily working with prominent artists of various genres around the world, composer-producer Centric is making his Lambo debut with a dance-floor ready single “Timing” featuring CJae. The summer record boasts the singer’s vocal prowess, as he effortlessly glides over the soul-stirring Centric–production.
“The song itself was really a test run. I always wanted to produce a record that had an “afrobeat” vibe to it,” Centric reveals. “Nothing that’s too deep. It’s a fun song. A feel-good summer record that’s basically about not wasting time when you have a love interest. CJae wrote the record and did an amazing job.”
Having produced for several Grammy-awards winning and nominated artists, Centric started creating music in his late teens. With his debut on our platform introducing him as a force to reckon, we caught up with the record producer and composer talking about how he chose music as a career path, his newest music, and what’s next.

Hey Centric! How are you?
Not too bad. Everything is really good actually.
When did you first get involved with music? And why did you choose it as a career path?
I always loved music. I started creating in my late teens. I was creative, but my instrumentals weren’t all that great back then. My knowledge of instruments and music as a whole has grown over the years immensely.
And congratulations on the release of “Timing” your latest track. Can you give us a bit of detail about the inspiration behind the release?
Thank you! Initially, it was a random release and was not supposed to be a part of my up-and-coming compilation “Love Received” which is scheduled to be released at the end of this year. The song received such positive feedback that I decided to include it in the full project. The song itself was really a test run. I always wanted to produce a record that had an “afrobeat” vibe to it.
I believe there’s a particular message you are trying to convey with the new track! What do you want your listeners to feel when they hear it?
Nothing that’s too deep. It’s a fun song. A feel-good summer record that’s basically about not wasting time when you have a love interest. CJae wrote the record and did an amazing job.
What is next for you?
Definitely, the full “Love Received” album. I’m looking at an Aug/Sept release, but we will see. I’m always creating even if not for my own projects, so there’s always something in the works one way or another. The show just continues on.
