It is easy to sound banal when talking about music. How often have we heard that “music brings people together”, “music can change the world”, and so on? With Orlando Galdamez, however, all of the above is true. Portugal’s electronic music singer-producer DJ Galfly’ is a rare example of an artist whose music literally brings people together.
Having made music characterized by emotional intensity, driving beats, and soaring synths, Galfly has become deeply immersed in his local music scene, developing a unique style that draws from his Latin American roots and the cutting-edge sounds of the Portuguese electronic music community. His music, festivals, and club performance is exceptional even to the point that the area now boasts an electric, vibrant scene.
“Electronic music in Portugal is very relevant and I always had access to many different music genres within electronic music, thanks to my cousin Diogo Fonseca, Who introduced me to the world of Electronic music,” explains the DJ when speaking on how Portugal had an influence on his choice of career.
Living in Galicia, Spain, the artist sat down with Lambo ˣᵗʳᵃ to discuss his journey into the world of music and the electronic music scene, his latest project, and the role that his music and others have in reaffirming the connection between Latin America and the Portuguese sound.

It is a mix of experimental and avant-garde sounds. A Sonic Melting Pot.
From the beginning to the end is exciting, but after hours of working on a track something clicks inside of me and I get the Aha! Moment. It’s more of a matter of feeling it than hearing it…
