Ice Prince Zamani teams up with Edgar-boi to produce his new tune tagged “Kolo.” This single features golden vocalist, Oxlade. This track falls in as a commemoration of Ice’s newly signed contract with Lyor Cohen’s 300 Entertainment, under the same umbrella with Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion and many others. Ice Prince happens to be the first artist from the African continent to be signed to this label.
The Oxlade-assisted track sees both artistes expressing their deep intentions and devotions to a love interest. Oxlade’s vocal composure was well noted as he indelibly added a warmth and undeniable ambience to the song. According to the popular Nigerian slang, kolo means to go mad or act crazy. In this tune, ice prince expresses how his love for this lady of interest makes him want to go crazy and do crazy things. “I’m talking about a girl that I fell in love with and I’m going crazy thinking about,” Ice Prince gestures in the song. “I can’t stop thinking about her and getting her the best things in life, and how I want to make her my wife.” He continues.
The video to this tune has also been graciously provided and it was directed by Nigeria’s UAX and he does a good job by creating a rather sensual atmosphere celebrated by adequate lighting and synchronizing dance moves.
Ice Prince, the two-time BET awards winner is one of Africa’s most successful rappers and exports. He has had seasoned hits to his name- “Oleku,” “Superstar,” “Aboki,” and the likes. He started his journey from Chocolate city with his cousins- MI Ababa and Jesse Jags, who were also his label mates. He has been involved in several international collaborations with- French Montana, Major Lazer, etc. It is gathered that Ice Prince’s songs have racked up over 100 million streams across DSPs. “Kolo” is a follow up release under the 300 Entertainment label, following “Make Up Your Mind” released some time in September last year.
