With music on streaming services saturated with so many options and new ones being released every week, it can be arduous to determine what to listen to. Now an afrobeats heavyweight with a couple of hits to his name, Runtown is back with a follow-up to 2021’s Soundgod Fest Reloaded. This record has a more lax approach to his previous music, it’s a 13-track project with one guest feature by Mr Hudson, running through Afropop and afro-fusion sounds effortlessly.
The song, produced by Baby Beats, is the first single off his forthcoming extended play (EP) titled ‘Grit & Lust’. This track makes you hear Zinoleesky at his best, he flows so seamlessly. He describes this song as the ‘Mirror’ that reflects a new beginning in his career.
Following his hit single ‘Friday Night’, the breakout star of 2022 has released his self-produced anthem ‘Running.’ The song suggests Lasmid is on the run with his newfound success and he assertively says ‘Ain’t no flopping‘.
Sister singer-songwriter duo, all about Love and Soul! The new single WANDERLUST is a soulful breeze complimented by their notable voices. The track is a departure from the afrobeat Nigerian acts are known for and it’s just worth a listen.
He has been no stranger to controversies and really questionable antics on the internet and his new track ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Funds’ is no different this time. With a legion of admirers who buy into his antics and his irresistible rough edge to his delivery, his song strike a cord. The song produced by Vice Ace is a synergy of Naira’s hip-hop influence and amapiano beats.
Nigerian Afropop sensation Mannywellz has the most dynamic and sonic track out this week. ‘My Heat’ is a soulful ballad over minimal beats. Bandana Papi as he affectionately calls himself storytelling and delivery is unrivaled in this song finishing off with an impressive falsetto.
Twitch found success with his music in 2020 with the release of his debut EP ‘LOST’. He has since released multiple singles over the last 2 years. His new Single ‘Deeper’ comes together with 2 other songs titled ‘Hold on, this is the direction (Junktape Vol.1)’. He’s one of the artists to watch in the coming year.
