Less than 24hrs after releasing his much anticipated single, Stand Strong, Nigeria’s music super star, Davido, appears to be winning on every side with his new song.
The song seems to be resonating with the singer’s travails and triumphs as he features the American music group, The Samples.
The Samples, known for co-leading Kanye West’s Sunday service added a special effect to the song that has been trending for over 25 hours.
Talking about the song, Davido in a statement hinted that the song is special to him, saying everything about it is different.
“This one is special to me. It’s different. The conception has been different. The mindset has been different. The making has been different.”
He continues, saying he understands his fans love something unique from him and he wants to make them feel special listening to the song.
“I know you love it when I make you dance, but now I want to make you feel. This one is for everyone out there holding it up. I know what I’ve experienced over the past 10 years, and a lot of you have been through it all with me. But… have you really? For the first time, I want to bring you into the other part of my world. The part where every day is a battle but I have no option but to STAND STRONG. I present to you, the first single off my next album.”
Produced by hitmaker, Pheelz, ‘Stand Strong’ which is Davido’s first official single for the year is topping Apple Music 100 Global Songs Chart and in 12 other countries.
‘Stand Strong’ which was released on Friday, May 13, 2022, debuted on the 100 Global Songs Chart at number 87, on the chart data that was released on Saturday.
