Davido has just shared the music video for his track with Mayorkun titled “The Best.” The DMW record label owner did well with the beautiful visuals put together for the song. The talented singer featured his signee Mayorkun who is known for releasing banger hit music anytime he decides to dish out a new song. Fresh VDM did good justice in the production of the song and the song was lifted off Davido’s album, “A Better Time.” Davido in his recent album also featured Mayorkun in two of his songs in the album.
Arguably Africa’s biggest musician, Davido, teams up with Dammy Twitch to deliver a most excellent visual treatment to the widely accepted tune cooked up by himself and his record signee, Mayorkun. The video which was reportedly shot in Lagos shows off a vibe of classic Samurai and in-depth martial arts scenery. In the video, we see Davido practically training his musical protégé in real life, getting him ready and fully equipped for the supposed battles ahead of which it was shown that Mayorkun took home his victory after knocking down his opposition.
The concept of the video also gives them both the opportunity to dress in ceremonial garments while displaying the similarities between Asian and African cultures, paying homage to the Asian culture.
Davido, who has enjoyed some open doors in the US in recent years, thanks to collaborations with Disclosure and Khalid, Lil Baby, and Nicki Minaj, released his third studio album “A Better Time” in November, playing on the title of his second album, “A Good Time,” and employing an international portfolio of collaborators ranging from New York’s Nas to South Africa’s Sho Madjozi, the DMW boss is well on his way to being platinum. The video was more like a statement announcing that the award winning isn’t done yet, it is believed that his best is yet to come.
