African Giant album maker and Grammy-nominated singer Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has released his first single for the year 2020 titled “Odogwu“.
Listening to the song, one will think the song is by a musician of Igbo origin. It brings sounds from the Nigerian eastern part to Afrobeat. With this song, Burna Boy further proves that he is a versatile artist that can sing to any beat and that culture is not a barrier.
To say the artiste is talented will be an understatement, as “Odogwu” thus proves that Burna is ready for 2020.
“When I reach Igbo land them calling me Odogwu. As I enter the town I put am for Agu, and Nobody can stop you because we dey fly pass oh, over any obstacle calling me Odogwu”, says the lyrics of the chorus.
“Odogwu” is an Igbo word that refers to ‘Hero‘ in English. The record produced by his afrobeat hit maker, Kel P is a mid tempo jam with indigenous sounds.
On this record Oluwa Burna shares that, ‘You Are Looking At The Champion‘. Says he is the one drawing the map, the crowned Hero that no one can stop.
